It dominates the middle
Foglia valley from the top of a rock spur, pictorially dislocated
on a slope with a difference in height of about 100 metres. It
still retains the ancient walls with two towers and the severe
civic tower with a circular base and hexagonal cell (15th century
) which dominates the medieval village. Immediately outside the
walls, the parish church houses a painting ("La Pentecost")
painted in 1772 by Marino Medici.

"The castle of Candelara, with its walls still clearly recognizable
today, was built after the year 1000 and is a jewel of military
architecture of the 1400s, which was also built by the architect
Matteo Nuti.
Cerasa

The name, Cerasa, apparently dates back to Monte della Ceregia,
where the castle was rebuilt after the destruction of the first,
called Quercifissa castle and dependent on the abbey of San Paterniano
di Fano, as evidenced by a document from 1156.
